Making Exercise and Wellness Part of Cancer Care

This lecture will provide education on the safety and benefit of exercise during and after cancer treatment, resources that we have available at UNC and how you can help your patients implement exercise and wellness behaviors during and after their treatment.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the ACSM exercise recommendations for cancer patients and survivors.
  • Recognize the role of exercise and wellness during and after cancer treatment to help patients manage symptoms, maintain physical function and improve quality of life.
  • Demonstrate an understanding about how to provide your patients with exercise and wellness resources and help them set short-term exercise and wellness goals.

Credits Offered

  • 1.0 ANCC (NCPD/CNE) hours of study
  • 1.0 ACPE contact hour
  • 1 ASRT Category A CE Credit
  • General Participation

Requirements

To receive credit for this course, you must:

  1. Attend at least 50 minutes minutes of the session.
  2. Obtain the attendance verification password from your site coordinator or via the attendee follow-up email from the UNCLCN Site Coordinator.
  3. Complete the course evaluation.
  4. Select credit type.
